This reminded me of the rings of Saturn. 

Partial shell.  Translucent, like frosted glass.

Since I pointed out horseshoe crab shells, I've noticed they are very common, and I'm finding larger shells.

About 4 cm.

These are not actually growing on the beach.  They just looked lonely.
